Emberloo
(2023)
Cracks in the Temple series
Emberloo holds the moment when transformation gathers heat but has not yet released it. A red field forms the base: pressure, blood memory, ancestral intensity. Above it, the figure becomes flame itself, upright and clear, signaling a shift from endurance to ignition. This is fire as emergence rather than destruction.
The work distinguishes between inherited heat and chosen heat. What lies beneath is what was absorbed and carried forward. What rises is authored. The figure steps out of containment without burning away its past. The flame is no longer borrowed or reactive. It is internal and defining.
Within Cracks in the Temple, Emberloo marks a threshold of irreversible becoming. Lineage loosens its grip, and a new orientation takes shape. Nothing breaks. Something stands. The authority here is quiet and steady, more lived than performed.
