Dyspena Novena
(2023)
Cracks in the Temple series
Dyspena Novena opens as a contained field shaped by pressure. Concentric forms gather toward the center, then widen, like breath held between contraction and release. What reads at first as simplicity becomes layered and active on closer view. The surface carries quiet charge, asking the eye to slow down.
The work reflects expansion through vulnerability rather than force. Identity is not erased or rewritten. It reorganizes. Pressure moves through the body of the piece instead of breaking it apart, creating a widening that holds fragility and strength together. Nothing resolves, yet clarity begins to form at the edges.
Dyspena Novena marks an early structural shift within the series. It signals the first visible change in internal order, a moment when transformation is felt rather than framed. The work holds its own atmosphere. Interpretation is optional. Presence is required.
