Scorpius
(2023)
Cracks in the Temple series
Scorpius expands outward like wings opening in slow motion. The central form stretches through the field, balancing earthbound gravity with celestial reach. Its structure reads as alignment rather than reference: constellation and body fused through pattern, not symbol. The work exists between sky and skin, myth and matter.
Traces on the surface mark passage and navigation. Star-like shapes remain visible while other forms dissolve into abstraction, holding what memory keeps and what it releases. Embedded fossil forms echo deep time. Color moves between heat and grounded green, carrying sensuality without display. The figure feels awake, oriented, and unafraid of breadth.
Within Cracks in the Temple, Scorpius marks a turn away from external achievement and toward internally authored life. Transformation here is not rupture, but widening. The work opens over time, gaining meaning through presence rather than narrative, and offering space for the viewer to meet their own shifting orientation.
