Commissions

A commissioned work is a conversation between your world and mine.

Each piece is shaped through intention, inquiry, and the layered intelligence of paper.

The process is sculptural and deliberate, designed to create a work that feels coherent with the environment and life it will inhabit.

Bespoke Commission

A Bespoke Commission is a clear, elegant pathway for collectors who wish to enter my working framework to create a piece that responds to a specific context, space, or environment.

Each commission unfolds through a focused, intentional process that balances structure and intuition, allowing the material and conceptual direction of the work to guide its final form.

How It Works

1. Inquiry
You reach out with initial thoughts about scale, environment, and which bodies of work you feel most drawn toward.

2. Consultation Call
We speak briefly about the setting the work will inhabit, the tone of the space, and any personal context that feels relevant to the piece.

3. Concept Development
I develop a refined visual and conceptual direction based on our conversation, the environment, and the underlying inquiry of the work.

4. Concept Review
We meet in person or on Zoom to review the proposed direction and confirm alignment before moving forward.

5. Agreement and Scheduling
Once the direction is confirmed, the commission is scheduled and the formal work process begins.

6. Immersion Phase
This is the quiet stretch where the piece takes shape in the studio. I move through the layered carving process, allowing the material to guide the work into its final form.

7. Optional Progress Glimpses
For collectors who enjoy witnessing a work as it evolves, brief studio moments may be shared during the process.

8. Completion and Reveal
When the work is complete, it is presented and delivery is arranged in a manner appropriate to the location and scale of the piece.

Bespoke Commissions typically unfold over two to six months, depending on scale and complexity.

Collector Commission Experience

Some collectors are drawn to a deeper conceptual process that extends beyond a traditional commission.

The Collector Commission Experience is a high-touch creative process designed for collectors who wish to engage more fully with the symbolic, narrative, and structural dimensions of the work. This process includes expanded conversations, deeper conceptual development, and a more intimate rhythm of creative exchange.

Each piece is shaped through careful attention to history, environment, and meaning, resulting in a work built from the inside out.

The Collector Commission Experience is available by request and begins with a conversation to determine alignment and availability.
