Homage #1 addresses inheritance without nostalgia. Built from densely layered paper, the surface carries the imprint of repetition, pressure, and accumulated labor. The work is carved rather than assembled, shaped through removal as much as addition. What remains is deliberate.

The composition reads as structural and bodily at once. Vertical rhythms suggest architecture, spine, and continuity, while the carved channels interrupt that order, introducing rupture and recalibration. This is not reverence as preservation. It is homage as reckoning. An acknowledgment of what formed us alongside the necessity of editing it.

Rather than memorializing the past, Homage #1 interrogates it. What deserves to be carried forward. What must be reworked. The piece holds that tension without resolution, allowing lineage to exist as an active, evolving force rather than a fixed inheritance.
